Should I chip my Xbox 360? PLEASEEE I REALLY NEED ADVICE?
Posted on May 23rd, 2010 7 commentspoppytreee asked:
Im in limbo. On one hand cheap games, saving me hundreds of pounds. On the other potentially damaging the xbox and losing my warranty.
Dose it affect the Xbox 360 and will it break If I chip it?
Also I am aware I could be banned of xbox live.what I mean by chipping is: someone dose something to the inside not sure what lol, and it allows you to play copied games costing around £5.

my friend used to mod Xboxs, and as long as they do a good job it should be fine. It does void the warranty. In my opinion its not worth it because i don’t want to risk my 360 and live is like the best part of the 360. I dont know if they updated thier security, but i remember on old modded Xboxs you could play live as long as you had the original CD in the xbox

Ya in the long run u save alot even if it brakes since like 100 = 1000+ so if it brakes buy 1 pre chipped, but get it from a trustworthy guy.

ok ummm the truth my normal x box we chipped it and at first it was good but later on it was getting on our last nerves every time u want to turn off the x box and then turn it back on to play u would have to bang it real hard in order to work and now that x box 360 came out we wanted to sell our x box and add more money to buy xbox 360 but we couldnt cause it was chipped so we went ahead and bought x box 360 and this time we are not chipping it
so nooo do not its sooo not worth it pretty soon other systems are gona come out and u would want to sell x box 360 but if u chip it u cant -

Listen man, I am all about skirting the system at every angle possible, but if you love your XBOX 360 as I do mine, I would stay far away from modding. Simply put not everyone knows exactly what they’re doing, and even if they do, sometimes the system just simply rejects it, burning out the whole processor. My brother in law modded his original XBOX and the thing burnt out 3days following. I do believe that the updates you receive from XBOX live carry a tracer signal or something of the like searching for hack type equipment. I don’t know that for sure I was told so by my friendly neighborhood computer nerd. Either way my vote is to stay away from modding, and if you do go ahead with your plan get someone you trust, and who seems like he knows what he’s doing, because anyone can talk a good game…
Good Luck,
